On 16 March 2024, the Russian House in Melbourne came alive with creativity and colour during the Matreshka Workshop hosted by artist Sasha. Young art lovers gathered for a joyful and hands-on introduction to one of Russia’s most beloved cultural symbols – the Matreshka doll. With paintbrushes in hand and smiles all around, participants of all ages brought their own unique flair to decorating traditional nesting dolls. The atmosphere was warm and welcoming, and the room buzzed with imagination. Even our youngest guest just under 2 years old joined in the fun, making it a truly family-friendly celebration of art and heritage.

Address: The Russian House – 118 Greeves Street, Fitzroy
