About

Alexandra Nosova in a printmaking studio by photographer Vlad Grishanov , 2024
Alexandra Nosova | Sasha is an Australian artist with a generous practice encompassing printmaking, painting and collage. Sasha’s work often marries the act of making with her lived experience. Having academic background Alexandra easily intertwines it with contemporary trends creating visual metaphors to the things that inspire her in daily life. Alexandra’s practice employs many different forms of research and processes and presents them via widely varying outcomes and contexts. Her work is often personal, collaborative and experimental. In addition to making, a large part of Sasha’s practice is involved in the discourse and community surrounding art.
Nosova hosts regular workshops at the Russian House in Melbourne and contributes to the RMIT School of Art events as an alumna.
Sasha has exhibited widely in both artist run and commercial spaces since graduating from the College of the Fine Arts in 1997. She has been awarded the Moscow Council prize for the Contemporary Cote d’Azur studio residency in 2016 and numerous state and federal project grants.
In the past, Alexandra worked as a creative director for Community Russia Magazine and curated art festivals and exhibitions in Moscow, project spaces and arts auctions during the Cannes Film Festivals in France. Sasha has artworks at the Saatchi Gallery London, MoMA Moscow, Artbank and numerous private collections.
