Local Council Programs

Locals & Stories

Locals & Stories is a place-based art program that brings residents together to explore what makes their community unique. Through personal stories, memories and shared experiences, participants transform their perception of local streets, parks, landmarks, businesses, community spaces and people into artworks. Creating together, residents discover new aspects of the place they call home and build stronger connections with their neighbours.

Creative Bridges

Creative Bridges is an inclusive arts program exploring how migration can reshape our sense of identity, home and belonging. Bringing together newly arrived and established residents, the program uses creative practice to explore the fluidity of national identity. Through making together, participants can reflect on what it means to leave home, move countries, settle in and assimilate in a new place. Creative Bridges is a space where different journeys meet.

Women Together

Women Together is a creative program for women to meet, explore and connect through art making. Using drawing, painting, collage, mixed media and silk screen printing participants explore such experiences as life journeys, family, friendship, motherhood, work, belonging, change and personal strength. No prior artistic skills required. Bringing together women of different ages, backgrounds and professions, the program celebrates women’s voices and culminates in a collective exhibition.
